every day whe n i waske up i find a bunch of dead gnats floating on my waters surface, i usually just get them off wit ha net, but can they be harmful?

I dont think so, atleast not IME. I sometimes have found decent sized moths and nothing has happened. I just take them out asap.

Current Tank Info: 5 pieces of glass with some silicone and plastic frames holding them together
