Rowaphos
New to the site. Hope you can help!
I have been running Rowaphos in a Lifeguard fluidized bed filter on my 180 for some time now and am having problems with it solidifying. The material turns blue and clogs the ported bottom. No flow....no use. Can anything be done to eliminate this problem? Are other bed filters less likely to have this problem develop? Thanks |

The Rowa media can precipitate soem calcium carbonate which may cause it to clump and the fines and shape of the grains do not help. Try installing some foam on the bottom of the filter to distribute the water and prevent the media clogging the bottom.
If you can get removing media PHOsR from Warner Marine, it comes in more uniform pellets with less fines that can make the fluidization better.
