tunze in tank filter and skimmer
I'm about to set up my first salt water tank. I was wondering if the tunze reef pack was a good system for a reef tank. I have a 125 gal. tank with a closed loop pump system. I've raised discus for about 2 years and got bored so now I;m going salt water. Can anyone ofer some advise. thanks

Im not sure what the in tank filter is. I would set up a sump with skimmer and use Live Rock as main filtration. If you could post a link to the product you are talking about I could probably tell you more.

If this is what you're referring to (the second one down)
http://www.paraquatics.co.uk/en-gb/dept_7.html I'd say that you'd be better off with an ample amount of live rock and a good quality protein skimmer. That system seems to be designed for marine use but I'd be skeptical about how effective it'd be in a well-populated reef. On the other hand, Tunze is generally known for good quality. Still, I'd spend my money on a high-quality discrete protein skimmer and the live rock.
