Niger Trigger & Peppermint shrimp

We have 2 ocellaris clowns, 2 yellow tail damsels, 1 Blenny, 1 Mandarin, 1 anemone, 1 anemone shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp 3 snails and 3 hermit crabs.
I asked at my LFS about the Niger Trigger as we're setting up a bigger tank and are planning to have it semi aggressive fish in it.
I want a Niger and my LFS doesnt have them very often. The guy said it is not very aggressive and should be fine in the tank we have until we complete the other tank (only a few weeks off) but couldnt guarantee it wouldnt eat the peppermints... would it?? Or any of the other fish??

Most likely will eat your shrimp, maybe crabs/snails.

A friend of mine had a niger trigger for over a year and it was the perfect tank mate untill one day it decided to attack anything and everything that moved!, this story ended with tank being taken appart to catch him!

The trigger is re-homed but my friend lost several fish in the process.

Not trying to put you off just what i know which put me off a great looking inexpensive fish.

Cheers

Derek

I have a niger trigger and everything is fine except he knocks off a few crabs every now and then. I had him in my FO 75gl for about 2 years. I converted to reef about 2 months ago. I would like to remove him so that I can get some shrimp and other things but he's pretty smart! I have tried 3 kinds of DIY traps with no luck. Next I am going to buy a hair hook (tiny fishing hook) and remove the barb - then go fishing in my tank for him!
