My DIY Stand+Electrical start
I have just taken down my 90 gallon tank, I was using the following equipment, 365 watts PC 2 Actinic and 2 10K. 30 gallon tank made into a trickle filter Protein skimmer, uv sterilizer. I have decided to do the following and I am in progress of the new build.
1. stand for a 30 gallon + 20 gallon and a 37 Gallon Cube. Status Complete 2. Drill tanks insert bulk head fittings 1" DIA. A. 20 Gallon QTY 1 B. 30 Gallon QTY 1 C. 37 Gallon QTY 2 Status purchased and complete 3. Float valve for auto top off system A. 20 Gallon QTY. Status Complete 4. Indicator lights for GFI Protection Status 16 of 20 installed 5. GFI Outlets (20) Status wired not installed yet in stand 6. Timers for lighting Status in complete 7. Lighting (2 MH 250 WATT 14K, 2 T5 48" 55 Watt, 1 pure actinic and 1 11K) Status Purchased in shipment 8. coral life led night lighting X2 Status owned prior 9. Cooling fans Status need to purchase 10. DIY canopy (2 MH + reflectors, 2 48" T5 + Reflectors, 2 Coral life led light, 2 Cooling fans and 3 Auto feeders. Status in design stage 11. Refugium lighting (T5 6.5 K) Status researching 12. New skimmer that will fit in a 1/2 of a 30 gallon sump Status Researching (any suggestions) 13. Calcium delivery methods (Cal reactor or dosing) Status researching 14. Refugium Phos+Nit. Asobers Status Researching 15. Refugium substrate status plan on purchasing Miracle MUD and Tonga/Fiji rock 16. System Pumps Status Already have 17. Plumbing Status Incomplete 18. 90 Gallon substrate (Plastic with sand glued to it) Status 25% complete need to purchase sand and install 19. Rock work structure for 90 gallon tank Status End of design stage 20. Insulation of aquariums for reduce heat loss/gain. Status pending 90 gallon display tank 21. DIY skimmer? Or are you talking about buying one. Which tank is it going on?

The skimmer will go in my 30 sump due to I do not want to place it the 20 gallon due to the float is located there for the auto top off.
Do you know anything about these skimmers http://www.lifereef.com/retail.html are they just over priced or are the worth it. |

I do not know much about them. I have a Euro Reef ES5-3 in my 30 gallon sump. It is a great skimmer. The best skimmers that I know of are Deltec, Euro Reef, ASM (Euro Reef Clone). Im sure someone else will chime in with their favorite but if you ask around, you won't get a single negative comment about any of these skimmers. Cheers
