Elephant ear mushroom???

can anyone give me the lowdown on this species, I have read nothing real negative about this mushroom except that it is aggressive but a local guy that thinks he know everything says that it will eat all my fish, can anyone confirm this?

They can get very large and are very capable of eating fish.

Several different species of corallimorphs are referred to as "Elephant Ear shrooms". Amplexidiscus fenestrafer resembles an anemone and eats fishes.

Do a 'Google' for pictures of Amplexidiscus fenestrafer and compare.

I have one . It was maybe 4 inches round and after less than a year it's 16 to 18 "round . I thought it was real cool when it turned up into a huge ball periodically until I realized a fish dissapeared everytime it did it's ball trick . It was trapping and digesting any small fish in the tank . Getting that large also was a pain because it quickly covered all neighboring corals . It's really a fantastic critter and great to watch but it now sits in my Q tank until I'm done setting up the 400 , then there will be plenty of room .
