Reef tank conversion Question

Hello guys,

I have this 125 gallon uniquarium and am using it as a fish only tank with live rock. However, i am planning on making it into a reef tank.

My question is, for a uniquarium, a SUMP would kinda be redundant. So how can i get a larger protein skimmer (not the small one that comes with the aquarium) to work with my tank. If i do need to get a sump? where should i run the pluming to?

thank you so much for the help. I love this site!
