RO Waste Water

What is the average ratio of waste water for RO units?

Like for every x amount of gallons, you get x amount of water you can use.

Anyone know? I know its different per area, but a range?

My RO unit used to be 1:4. But there are so many factors that can have an effect, like water temperature, water pressure, whether a DI membrane is present, etc, etc, etc...

4:1 waste to product ratio is the industry standard. Check to see if the membrane is seated correctly in the housing. Other things that can affect flows are low pressure and low temperature or both

I am using a PurFloII 50 gallon per day on a well. House water pressure is 20 low and 40 high. On house pressure I get 2 gallons waste for each gallon of RO. If I use the pump that came on the RO unit I get 1.5 gallons waste for each gallon of RO. A Kill-a-meter indicates the pumps only uses 18 watts. If I ran the pump 24/7/30 it would cost me $1.29 per month. A good investment for people on low pressure systems.
