Filter sock questin???

I have two 1.5" drains going into my sump/fuge.
I have been running filter socks on both drains and they have been doing a great job of keeping my water crystal clear and filtering out a lot of gunk.

My question is are they keeping nutrients and stuff from getting to my fuge? I have a DSB and chaeto in my fuge and was wandering if the filter socks are hindering anything.

I prefer running the filter socks as it helps keep my sump/fuge cleaner--but I don't want to hinder anything from developing properly.

I'd appreciate any input.

That or anything that the fuge might need to "feed" off of?
