lifereef overflows...
ok, for all the people that have lifereef overflows:
1) have you ever had a flood due to loss of syphon? 2) if not, how long have you been using it trouble free? |

no floods, no loss of syphon. I change the U tube once a month and I've been using it for about 7 mos.

the tubes, get dirty, or algae / corline growth some time they start to crack. it's a precausion...replacing the tube is 5$, it's better that waking up to a flood.

I'd like to know that as well. Why do you need to change tubes? Due to algae build up inside it? I have a CPR overflow that scares the crap out of me having read the horror stories about it on this forum. I may switch to a U-tube style one at some point.

as for a overflow opposed to a drilled tank, to be safe I would add the overflow. If you drill and crack the tank its a big hassle becuase it's already up and running.
