Coralife super skimmer 65
I have one for a 12 gal tank. Should I take it back and pay 40$ more for an aqua c remora or are coralife ones ok?

Ack! The CSS will be toooooo big for that tank. Not too mention it'll constantly be overflowing onto your floor. Why not just do water changes on a tank that size? If you MUST have a skimmer, upgrade to the Remora! It's well worth the money. Good luck!

I have never heard of a skimmer being too big for an intended tank, and i have a 65 on my 35 gal and once you get it broken in and dial it in correctly it should work just fine

Too big as in too much hardware in the tank re: bubble diffuser, pump, etc. It's nice to have some room for fish, corals and rock IMHO.
