RO/DI - no flow

I have an Aqua-Safe 6 stage RO/DI unit. I'm not getting any pressure on the output of the membrane. I have 80 psi on the inlet to the 3 pre-filters and 78 psi on the outlet of the three pre-filters, but 0 psi on the outlet of the membrane. Also the storage tank that came with the unit is not heavy at all meaning that there is no water in there. The drain line has water coming out though. Usually, when I fill a bucket, I can hear the unit kick on to produce more water, but that's not happening. I tried backflushing the membrane, but that didn't work.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks

Your Unit is probably missing the flow restrictor or it has been installed in the wrong place. Since you say you "Backflushed" it, did the waste water increase when you opened the valve or stay the same?

It seemed to stay the same. I would swear that the restrictor was never removed, but I'll check it to make sure it's in correctly.

You can also close the waste line off and see if the unit produces water. If so, it's definately a restrictor problem.

Did you have production at one time and it just gradually decreased? Or did you do some work on the system and suddenly it doesn't work?

The only thing I did was install a solenoid valve (normally closed) that was wired to a float switch in my sump.

The solenoid valve is located on a line that runs from the RO/DI unit to the inlet of my Kalk Reactor. Here's a picture of what I did. I know the picture is sideways, but I don't know how to turn it.

The problems seem to start after I installed that solenoid valve.
