HELP plumbing RO/DI leak
My RO/DI started leaking from underneath the faucet. It looked like the faucet had some type internal leak. I was taking it apart and one of the small plastic barbs that connect to the waste water line was cracked and I finished it off (broke it beyond repair). I bought a new faucet and connected it all up and it continually “leaks” water through the “air gap vent” on the side of the faucet. What purpose does the “air gap vent” serve? The only way I could stop the vent from flooding was to disconnect the “pink” line running to the faucet and route it to the drain. I disconnected the black line and removed it. Now I only have the blue supply line running to the faucet. Everything “seems” to be working now , but I am concerned about the way I did it. The RO unit is working fine but what is the “air vent” needed for?
