imo ebo jagger's "were' the best..tho it sounds like them and eheim have teamed up now and the new design isnt suposed to be fully submersible, tho people submerse them anyways...but they're great heaters...i'd say a 100w one would be fine.

be careful with heaters. I have boiled a tank or two.
Make sure you have all day to adjust and monitor the temp of the tank. -=E=-

I use two heaters and a thermal controller in each display tank to reduce the odds of death by heater. I've had a lot of heaters fail. I buy mostly Tronic heaters now, because they fail "off" rather than trying to boil the tank. Sigh.

I have a visi-therm that I like a lot. I have it controlled by my aquacontroller though. Heaters in general are hard to dial in. Like the above post, I would spend a day getting right. They tend to be a few degrees off from what the dial says.

I love my ebo jagger's too. I have used the old one and the new ones and it is true the new ones aren't fully submersible, but mines are in my sump connected to an aquacontroller and sometimes the water level in my sump is above the water level line on the heater and I haven't experienced any problems. I have had one fail, but I use 6 myself and my friends use them as well and I think one or two incidents among many users are pretty good odds.

The new ones are not labeled as fully submersible due to some EU standards, I believe. A lot of people are using them submerged, although I wouldn't.

I have a WON brothers titanium w/ digital readout I'm happy with.
Agree with watching it for a while to make sure.
