aquacontroller

is an aquacontroller worth it for a tank my size and a FOWLR setup or shoud i find a simple controller for just temp.

For me, when I considered getting light timers, a pH monitor, and temp control, an aquarium controller like the AC Jr. was well worth it. For a FOWLR, though, you won't have intense lighting or a need for wavemaker functions, so I don't think you would benefit much from having the controller. I also personally don't think you'd find much benefit from a temp controller. Just use two smaller heaters such that one failing on would not cook the tank, of if one failed off you tank wouldn't freeze.
