ASM skimmer + Inconsistent water levels

I plan on using my ASM skimmer in a sterilite sump. I was wondering if the water level in the sump dropped would that cause the water level in my skimmer to drop as well?

I know I could have asked at asmskimmer.com but I forgot my login information.

Thanks

Yes. Changing the water level in the sump will impact skimmer performance. You should consider using some type of automated top-off unit to minimize salinity changes regardless.
