Is this a normal/healthy looking mushroom?

Last weekend when I bought a few Damsels for my tank the LFS guy gave me a mushroom and told me to keep an eye on it, watch how it did and that would be our test run for my tank and corals. But since I don't have any clue how the little thing is supposed to look, I don't really know how it's doing.

Every night when the lights go off it seems to "shrink", kind of roll it's sides in and get much more compact. Is that normal?

Quite normal. Some mushrooms actually curl inwards in order to make an attractive hiding hole for small animals so it can eat them

I have that exact mushroom and I was curious about the same thing.

When the lights are on mine stays creased like that too. I didn't know if that was caused by stress.

Do these guys strictly use the zooxanthella (sp?) to make food, or do they benefit from some sort of spot feeding? If so what do they eat? How do I get them to reproduce? What additives could I add to the tank to help the little guy out?
