hey thats not a bad idea but i had originally thought to t my return and have it come back into my refuge so i dont think thats an option for me other wise i'll have no flow in there

as for the maxijet how big is the line you're using that goes the reactor?

Maxijet 400 pump with ball valve to control flow works fine and have not had phosphate problems for a while now

Anothere vote for a TEE from return line. The media just tumbling up and down few inches and a valve on phosban reactor's intake for easy maintance

Maxijet 400 valved down quie a bit. A Minijet 606 is a pretty good choice.

I use a 79gph Eheim 1046, works perfect for my application, although I am going thru a probe station first and tee off after the PhosBan reactor to feed my Calcium Reactor.

Sorry meant a minijet like carman9941 said. I forgot the 400 is a regular powerhead.

mine is also fed from my return. i didn't want to get a chiller, so i am trying to keep as many pumps out of my tank as possible. running carbon in it, i have to open the valve up all the way to turn the carbon, which really cuts down on my return flow-i'm just going to upgrade the pump to compensate. luckily it's external, so i shouldn't have the temp rise too much.
