active fish??
I have a 45 gal 1'x4'x1.5' ish tank. Im looking to add an active, preferably colorful fish to the tank. This is fish only with live rock, but i do have a couple blue legged hermits and a cleaner shrimp. I would be willing to remove the inverts if anyone has some ideas for a cool fish that may not be safe with them. any ideas anyone?

Longnose Hawkfish, Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse just to name a few. Try THIS link, very nice pix and fish. Be sure to research any fish the best you can before purchase.

sixline wrasse is the most colorful and active fish that i've had. But i dont suppose a flame angel would be a bad choice either

I think a Royal Gramma or a Six-Line Wrasse would make a good addition. From what I have read, they like to swim around alot and don't hide much at all. Both are very bright, colorful fish and peaceful too.

I have a royal gramma but it spends a lot of its time in the rockwork, it also acts very agressively towards my clown fish when it comes near specific openings in the rock. I was thinking about the 6-line, but would my pods be ok? There everywhere but i dont have a refugium or sump to keep the pop up. great ideas tho thanks so far, what else does anyone have ?

royal gramma's arent really that active. I had one for a while and it just hid all the time. (they dont like bright lights very much but can get used to them i guess)
as for the pods and the sixline...thats what the pods are for...to feed fish like sixlines (and manderins tho i really dont suggest you get one of those) I had my sixline for about 5 or 6 months in my 55 before it broke and my pods never really went down at all. He did love picking them off the rocks, but their numbers stayed the same pretty much. Mostly cuz the sixline isnt like a manderin and will take pretty much any food offered. Mine took flake, freeze dried plankton, mysis shrimp, etc...

You might want to hit the fishes section and look at the 3 different threads on Fairy Wrasses. Beautiful, colorful fish and peaceful with tank mates.

yea, those fairy wrasses look cool. Anything agressive that could go in a tank that size?
