Quarantine Waaay overcrowded?
I have always purchased my fish at my LFS but now I will be purchasing 5 camel shrimp, a cleaner shrimp, and a blenny from online. Would this be too many animals to put in my 10 gallon quarantine at the same time for a few weeks? Would this stress them out too much? I have a couple of pvc peices in there for hiding as well as live rock rubble.
Would I be better off putting the shrimp in the display and just Q'ing the blenny? |

Well that's what I would do. I know some people recommend quarentining them also, but I never have. You have to decide if it's a risk you're willing to take. You could always get the shrimp later, and why so many camel shrimp? They tend to not be good guys.

i second what dc said. I'd qt the fish for sure, but as far as i know, shrimp cant carry stuff like ich. But look at it this way...do people qt their snails and hermit crabs? nope, they all just acclimate them and put em in with no qt. So i dont see why shrimp should be different.

They are known to eat some corals, that wouldn't be a problem for you, and possibly other critters. So it would depend on what you plan long term. I guess I'd be more afraid of the brittle star eating them, than doing the eating.
