What are my DIY Metal Hylide options

I am looking to have some metal hylide on my 50g reef. I am interested in pendant MH lighting. What is the most cost effective way to do this. I know that I can buy on pendant for around $250. Can I make or piece together pendants for cheaper. Where to buy and what to get.

I have heard of MH lighting that you can buy from Home Depot or lowes. I am well aware of the spectrum side of this.

I saw one homemade on the net. Can't find it right now. But do a search for DIY Metal halide.

Some guy built a pendant lamp for $65 bucks.
