Next time, bring a book!!

I went to the lfs and thought I was buying a Midas Blenny which they said was safe after I listed to them what I have. Within 36 hours of putting it in my tank, I found it dead in the lr rubble that I put in a corner to try and keep pods growing looking like he got stuck under some that fell on it, but not after losing 2 small yellow-belly hippos and a purple firefish. All had been in my tank to 3 months prior and doing great. After looking though the Marine Fish book, it turns out it was a Mozambique Fang Blenny which is venomous. So obviously there goes the Ammonia levels, so I get some Amquel+plus for the first time and was told it is well known for dropping the ph and to use buffer. So I use it, and do a water change and put some buffer in the water after mixing it up and now the water is white and cloudy. I can't win!!
Gradually the filter is cleaning the water and the cloudiness is going away. But from now on I will bring my Marine Fishes book to know what I'm buying and not there word on it. I miss my hippo's and Firefish

Sorry for the loss. Kinda stinks. Yes you should know what your buying but if the lfs told you it was something diff I would try to get $$ back. I mean the fact that some stores will sell large fish to hobbiests with small tanks is one thing. But if they straight out told you it was something else thats kinda like false advertising. Kind of a sticky situation i guess

Thanks, I am going to head up there tomorrow. They usually have been very good and helpful as I have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past. To bad it has to be the lfs thats 40 miles away.
