Question Need skimmer pump help

After 2 years, I'm still such a newbie!

This is the first time I've needed to change out the pump for my skimmer. I'm going from a Rio 600 to a Maxijet 900. (What LFS lady said I needed.) I'm sorry I've forgotten the name of the skimmer itself, but I think it's a Red Sea something.

The body of this pump looks the same as the old, but it's missing the tube thing that stays up out of the water. ???

Do I just plug it into my skimmer the same way as the old one, minus the tubing, or is there something I'm missing?

Any help would be appreciated. And ASAP as I'd like to get this done before the baby wakes.

TIA!

You'll need a tube that comes out of the water to inject air into the skimmer. I think there's a kit for convering Maxi-Jets to venturi operation that will be required.
