230volt step-down transformer
Has anyone ever used a step-down transformer? I bought a chiller from someone and never got around to installing it untill now and just found out it runs on 230V. I need to find a way to connect it.

Yes, and it is called a step up. IE 120 to 220. Just make sure that the transformer can handle the Amp's required for the chiller.
Also, make sure your chiller is able to run on 60hz. |

If your pump needs a "Hot" and a "Neutral" connection, then look for the transformer. But check first. If its a 220V, that's just two 120V Hot legs.
You (or an electrician) would remove two single-pole circuit breakers from your Electrical panel and install a two-pole breaker in their place. Consider installing a 220V outlet, then put a 220V Plug on the pump, and plug it in. But that's only if you have a pump that requires two Hots...
