sand or no sand?

alright, I am setting up my system this weekend. 150 gal with a 80 gal sump, closed loop. I have been reading some threads this morning that kind of confused me. I will be adding water on Sat. and my question is do I add my sb right away or do I wait until the tank has cycled? Thanks

JMO but I would add it now. If you are adding live sand it will probably have some die off from shipping and you would have to cycle it by itself then add it after the tank cycles- then you risk a spike when you add it in because you are disturbing the sand bed. If you add it now you give the pods and other organizims a place to go (provided you have some LR in the tank).

definately first. I have done the "add sand later" and that was horrible.

also a good idea to cycle with b/c of the die-off.

Make sure you lay a trash bag over the sand before you start putting the water in. This will keep you from having a sandstorm.
