Wanting to reduce maintenance
Every other day I have to add R/O and reef buffer to maintain my salinity and alk levels. Would a drip system do the trick and if so are all drip systems the same?
I have a 46 gal. tank and run a skimmer. I also run 3 maxijet 1200s, and canister for a good water flow. I don't have a chiller so to maintain the temp. in the warmer months I keep the lid open for venting heat. Of course this contributes to more evaporation which contributes to the increased salinity. I'm thinking a chiller would be overkill for my size tank. Not to mention the noise and higher electric bill. I don't think my set-up warrants a refrugium. Your thoughts please. |

do you check your alk? Unless you have a lot of sps/clams etc. I would bet your alk is really high from the buffer.
not sure if it works yet but I just ordered an aquamedic ato from marinedepot for $137
