maintenance question

I've had my tank up and running for about 8 months now and I'm pretty good at keeping a constant schedule with my feedings and water changes and topoofs, but I'm starting to wonder if there is other types of mainentance I'm neglecting with my tank. Mainly, I'm concerned about the equipment. SHould I take my skimmer out and clean it? SHould I do the same with my powerheads? Is the something I'm seriously neglecting?

I would clean the skimmer and powerheads atleast once a month. Soak them in a vinigar bath and that will clean them right up.

Talk about neglecting... I have never done this either. My equiptment was all new and has been set up for about 8 months. I have cleaned it out but didn't use a vinegar bath. How much vinegar to how much water?

I do 50/50. Just make sure that you rinse them off good afterwards.

Power heads are a little trickier, but I clean the collection cup every time I empty it. Which is every other day.
