Exclamation Need help buying a skimmer for 26g

I've been running my 26g tank with a power filter, with bio filter inside for about a year now. I have 2 clowns, 1 blenny, 1 royal gramma, and a six line wrasse. Everything is doing great!

However, I am still getting a little bit of algae growth, which I guess is do to feeding and fish poo.

You guys think a skimmer will help me out? I don't have lots of room, a hang on skimmer would be nice if there is a good one. Any recommendations?

I have a few corals, and would like to grow some SPS.

JG

A decent HOB skimmer will definitely help remove some organics from the tank, but you may want to think about doing water changes more often instead.

Do you have a sump?

In my opinion, sump-based skimmers blow away hang on units.

If you do have a sump, I would look for a small needlewheel driven skimmer - there are many of these to chose from.

If you do not have a sump, I would look for a needlewheel driven hang on, there are a couple of manufactureres making these.

I have not been impressed by the CSS skimmers.
