Anybody use Berlin Skimmer?

I havent heard anyone say anything about these skimmers in a long time. when I first started the hobby years ago they were "THE" skimmer to have! Just curious if anyone at all is using one of them, and , if so how is it performing? I realize they arent comparable to recircs or NW ( like me H&S ) but am interested considering their price. Also I always see them on Ebay at very good, cheap prices. Thanks

Don't waste your money on a Berlin. They are rather old technology and do not perform all that well (slightly better than a SeaClone) especially when there are so many better skimmers at comparable prices available.

Instead look to an Octopus skimmer being the best bang for your buck.

yea I have to admit I still have one in ops. its one of those things when you are cleaning out the garage and you find junk from the last time you cleaned it, so I put it back on line to see if it improved with age well.... it didnt I just know how to get it running better(maybe I got better with age)it runns ok and does pull some junk out of the water so I will keep it till the impeller goes bad and it will hit the scrap pile again for another decade

I have used them in the past and the only reason I could think of getting another one now would be to run ozone in it. They come with that extra cup to place activated carbon in on top of the regular collection cup. Plus, if the ozone ruins it, who cares?
