hermit crab

time for my "stupid" question of the day.

I have an hermit crab that now looks like a snail....it has been very inactive all morning long , and eventually stuck the glass just like a snail would do, actually looks like a snail at this point...
is it part of a cycle? molt? or the poor crab is sick and dieing????

If he just molted he'll hide in his shell and not feed so much for a day or two. He's probably fine unless you see other things wrong with the tank too - they're pretty hardy little creatures except when it comes to fighting eachother.

hermit should be ok.. if he is dying, you will know in a few days when his body is floating outside the shell..
