when buying an RO system..........
Im getting an RO system for christmas and was wondering if there were any extras I was going to need to buy, accessories or parts to hook it to my faucet? I don't want to spend past the 100 dollar mark, and I only have a 30g reef tank, so GPD isn't really an issue.
this is the one I was thinking of buying Foster and Smith RO system Let me know what you think, and if there something Im missing. I want to buy an Ro system, hook it up and use it all in the same day if ya know what I mean. thanks megan

Air Water & Ice is not a sponsor so the censor nazis blank out the links. Crazy policy but its their site.
You need to spend just a little more than $100 to get a decent unit. www.purelyh2o has a good one for $139 that's pretty complete with the exception of a handheld TDS meter. www.thefilterguys.biz and www.buckeyefieldsupply.com have similar deals. Don't try to skimp on RO/DI or it will cost you much more in the long run. The units you linked to are RO only and not RO/DI until you get to the $149 one, the sponsors I listed above can all beat that. |

Get an RO with DI...set it up in your garage if appicable...two large drums one for your clean water & one for your waste water...use waste water for plants, lawn, hubby, etc...I would recommend float switches as well...unless you like to mop??? Stay away from ebay units...

I just got the series V ro/di unit from purley h2o, a forum sponsor, got a good deal with a free tds meter. I'm satasfied with it. Tap water was 148 tds going in. 2 after the ro unit and 0 after the di.
