Question silicone

I have a question regarding my sump. The question is one of the glass broke and I brought it to a local window glass guy. He repaired the the broken glass but he used regular silicone. Is it safe for my reef? From my knowledge silicone is toxic. He also say that if it drys well for two days it should be no problem. Can anyone please help me with this question.

Thank You In Advance,
Tommy

as long as it is pure silicone and fully cured it will be no problem. The problem stuff is the ones that have mold and mildew killing chemicals in them. If it was done at a glass shop it should be fine and should be 100% silicone. I work at a glass shop and we dont even carry any silicone with mold and mildew killing properties in it. If your in doubt check with them on that.

Thank you very much. The guy did say it was pure silicone. I will double check on the mold and mildew properties.

I think you got your answer, I use the large tubes made by GE 100% silicone and never had any problems.
