ich or not?
I'm trying to figure out whether or not the spot on my tang's tail is ich or not. The spot has been on his tail for over 2 weeks now but I didn't think that ich stayed on fish that long. Am I correct in assuming that it isn't ich?

If there's just one dim spot and it hasn't done anything, it may not be ich: it could be just an old scar. If, however, it looks like a well-defined grain of salt stuck on the tail, that would be ich.

I'm betting it's a scar. Continue to watch it, but don't panic unless it becomes more spots.
