Scraper Attachment for Magfloat

Has anybody used these scaper blade attachement for Mag-Floats?

How well do they work at removing some of the more stubborn materials from the glass during routine cleaning?

Thanks gang...

well i havent tried one like that (lol, it looks like someone had a fun little diy project ) but i will say that my magfloat gets off all the stuff that has grown only in the last few days...but once that stuff hardens, it would take for ever to get all the layers and whatnot. So i got one of the scrapers as well. I go over everything w/the magfloat first, and then i can see all the areas that need to be scraped. And the scraper works on ANYTHING, even coraline. Just wish i'd have bought that extension thing for it so i dont have to stick my arm in the tank.

But it looks like a good idea to me. I dont see why it wouldnt work. Its the same as stickin your hand in there to scrape basically.

I have a mag float with a different kind of blade- wider and protected by a beveled plastic shroud. It works very well, although i would tend to prefer to use the reg mag float alone more frequently. Blades are great, but they do some damage eventually to something. Of course the same is true of mag floats.......

I think marinedepot sells a magfloat attachment like the one pictured.

I use this one and it's great for the tough stuff.

Eventually I'll get the oceans motions scraper though. It uses regular razor blades so it's cheaper in the long run when you consider replacing blades and I've heard it works even better for scraping thick coralline.
