Help! My yellow tang is trying to attack my new Hippo tang with his barbs!
I just added a new 3.5 inch Hippo, Blue, Dory, or whatever you want to call it. I had the lights off for the first hour. My 3.5 inch fat yellow tang is trying to attack the new addition with his barbs. Will they work it out? What can I do to help?

Doesn't look like it, remove one of them from the tank.

I know that some people have kept those two in the same tank and it ends up alright.. it really is best to add them at the same time though, if you do.
How big is the tank? More than one tang in a tank is risky business in any case, but if the tank is smaller than a 120, I would say you are in for trouble. Just keep a close eye on them while they establish the pecking order and if it doesnt get better.. you will need to remove one. |

Tangs tend to check out your tank and make it there territory when you put one in! You should really add tangs lastly and if you want 2, add them together (like Nykademus said).
Another key factor is the size of your tank and also how your rock is positioned. If you have 2 mountains of rock either side of the tank with a clear-way in the middle then this is a key way to split the aggresion betwen rival fish. If you have your rock in one mountain in the middle of the tank then you may want to think of re-aquascaping your tank. Its risky but depends how much you want these tangs! How big is your tank and how have you got your rock positioned.?
