Red moonlights?
I'm considering using 3 red LED's for night-time tank viewing (55g). Would the fish/inverts mind? I've read that red light can make fish aggressive... but then read that people have used them with no problems. Any views / experience would be appreciated.
Thanks! |

You will get a good view of the nocturnal life such as pods. I'm sure about the long term with fish.

From what I understand, the blue from the LED's actually are mimicing the moonlight, which some sea creatures need. The red might be pretty for you and your family to look at but I don't think it will serve the same purpose for the sea creatures that the blue does.....Someone with more knowledge here please correct me if I am wrong......

The animals have no need for blue moonlight. Red is fine.

Excellent! Still I'll keep a close eye on them just in case. Thanks everyone!
