Old water?

I am setting up a 180 gallon tank, when it comes time to fill it up i was thinking about using some of the water from my 29 gallon tank maybe adding about 30 gallons over the course of time. just corious about if this would help the water become more mature and help the bio-spike?

any thought or commets
thanks

It will help but not very much, some sand from the previous tank will help alot more.
