any info on a won brothers Clean-up 300

I was looking at one of these skimmers and was wondering if any of you all have ever seen one working or tried one. If so what is a good pump for them. I can get one really cheap but was sondering if it is worth fooling with. It reminds me kind of an etss skimmer.

I never used the Clean-up 300 but I once purchased a smaller venturi driven Won skimmer. All I can say about the one I had is that it was absolutely worthless. No realistic modification could make it worth trying.

In my opinion, without having tried all Won skimmers, is to suggest to stay away from them. They are something to sell, not to buy. It's just a hunch of mine that they are all equally worthless, though I haven't tried all of them. I was just so disapointed in my Won.

If you want to buy a skimmer stick with a good one. Same goes with a lighting system. This IS an expensive hobby to 'start up'. Maintaining your tank properly is inexpensive if done properly and responsibly. I'd say go with a decent priced Euro-Reef look-a-like.

If you want to make one here’s a LINK

I had one... I even did some little modifications by adding two maxijet 1200 pumps with venturi to see if I could really get that thing working. I thought it was doing "okay".
Then I got an ASM G series. The ASM was pulling more out in one day then the WON (with mods) would do in a week. I know that the WON Bros skimmer is a lot cheaper... but in this case I would spend the extra and get a skimmer that will really work.
