What wattage generator should I get o run 3x250 watt light, return pump, and heater. Do all the outputs on the generator need to be 15amp?

You could get away with probably 2500 watts, but a 5500 watt generator would run all that plus some other stuff for not much more $$.
In the event of no power, you only need 1 MH running on the tank. Your tank could survive several days with no light, but your life is better with a fridge, microwave, etc. A bigger generator would cover all those and the tank.

The Champion 3500w is highly recommended on RV.net. I bought one a year ago and have been very happy with it. It will also power everything in my RV including the 13.5K air conditioner and microwave no problem. It $299 at Checker/Schucks/Kragen and Advance Auto and also found at Cabelas. It a licensed Honda clone and parts can be purchased from any Honda dealer.
