Dosing Pumps / Top-off systems

I'm leaning towards a setup were I dose my top off water. Any suggestions, reasons I shouldn't set up my system that way?

Any suggestions on a good product? Aqua Medic?

I use a Master-Flex peristaltic pump that got used, and a ReefFanatic controller that uses two float switches. Works for me, and I can use it to dose limewater. I think the ReefFiller pumps from ChampionLighting.com are peristaltic as well.

I dose my top off water via a GEO kalk reactor fed by the Aquamedic dosing pump controlled by my ACIII. You can use a regular timer though for the dosing pump.
