Octopus Diablo XS 200 - problem to adjust

This is a new skimmer and it flows over like crazy. I have the gate valves wide open and the skimmer bubbles flow over into the cup - is the is break-in issue or do you have to adjust the air intake somehow?

Raise the skimmer so the water level is lower
