Get a HOT MAGNUM use the micron filter and put some diatom powder in there with it. Works great for me when I need it.
O and I got a big bag from a local pool and hot tub shop for like $12.

thanks for the reply man, that seems to be the consensus as far as price and functionality go and I've also heard of buying diatomic material in bulk like that. i guess you cant go wrong for 40 odd bucks. Ive got a 40 gal breeder (reef) do you think i should step it up for a more expensive 60-70 model while im at it? really just looking for that super clear shimmer. should be even better once i get my new nova extreme pro.

no the more expensive model just has a bio wheel with it I think. No improved flow or nothing else
