MH question

Hey guys, I got my MH fixture and I unpacked it to check to make sure everything worked fine tested the actinics a few times, lunars a few times, and MH bulbs a few times. What I did not know at the time was the MH bulb needs to warm up before it can be shut down and needs to cool before it can be restarted. So did I do any damage by turning it on and off in succession I did it about 4 times and sometimes it wouldnt come on and sometimes not. But like I said now I know it needs to warm up and cool down before its shut down or turned on.

Also I got my tank in a smaller room do I have to worry about the MH creating Ozone?

most ballasts have a protection circuit to keep it from firing within a certain time limit, mine are seven minutes. So if it wouldn't fire a few times that's probably the ballast keeping you from damaging the bulb, should be no worries
