Fluval spec III drillable??

I've looked all over the place and I can't find a definitive answer. Many people have said, "I'm gonna try it" but I haven't seen the outcome.

My goal is to tie in a Spec III with my main system. Would only need to drill one hole in the back glass (which is actually the thickest) so I can install a drain bulkhead.

Has anyone been successful at drilling the Fluval spec III or V? Please share your experience. Where did you drill, why did you drill, how does it function now? If it seems to be successful, I'll place the order for a diamond hole saw! :0)

Good idea. Done. I'll report back with my findings. Perhaps it'll be helpful to someone else.

Well, they tell me the Spec is composed of tempered glass... glad I didn't try it first!!

Bad news as it would have worked out well. I guess I'll just have to find something else instead.
