ASM G2 good skimmer?

Looking at the ASM G2 PROTEIN SKIMMER W/ SEDRA 3500 PUMP and wondering if anyone that uses one has any input good or bad. Just starting to put the pieces together for a 110 & 44 sump, more LPS and SPS than fish. Thanks

For a 110gal tank, I would get something better, vertex skimmers are bang for the buck and works way better then old school ASM. You can get the G2 to perform better with mods, but you better off sticking with the new bubble plated skimmers out there.

Five years ago it was one of the best, they really haven't stayed competitive IMO. The Octopus Extreme and MSX skimmers are a way better bang for your buck.

Thanks for the input. I think I have it narrowed down to a few in my price range. After I read a few hundred more posts I should be down to 1 or 2!

ASM G-Series are junk... cheap plastic, unpredictable pumps and crappy customer service when you need it.

Look into the Octopus or Bubble Magus brands; WAY better quality! JMO
