I don't think you can go wrong with either.....LEDs will be more expensive upfront then the T-5 but the cost will come down over time with saving on electricity charges.....I would like to go LED but the cost is prohibitive for me right now.....I think it will depend on the LED unit as well as far as par goes which is the important part for corals.

I dont have any experience with LEDs, but have had good success with T5's for Rics and Zoas running the Current 6 bulb fixture.
