40g center glass?

I got a 40g 36x14x19 glass tank with center glass brace, can I get it rid of this center brace for an open feel and still be sturdy? I'm putting a HOB refugium as well, thanks

Odds are that the glass is to thin to be a rimless / brace less tank. The brace is to keep the glass from bowing and cracking. I would not remove it, especially with adding any weight with a HOB product.

Happy Reefing!

Measure the thickness of the glass if you want to be sure but like SaltyReefDog said, it is probably engineered that way for a reason.
