How important is an Ozone generator in a FOWLR tank?
If I crank up the UV generator, and have sufficient skimming, how necessary is an ozone generator (which I would have to buy parts for and service)?? No corals in tank. Reading some of the technical stuff on ozone makes my head spin, and if not really necessary, I'd prefer not to do it. Opinions, please. Thanks...

It isn't necessary. It can help keep things cleaner, and help greatly with water color quality (important if you have long runs). We have several large FO and FOWLR tanks (700 - 1000 gallons) and don't run ozone.

Barry, ozone is easy to administer and monitor via an ORP meter/controller but as mentioned, not necessary.
