RLSS R-5I Skimmer any good?

Anyone have any experience with RLSS R-5i skimmers?
Majority reviews for RLSS seem to be very positive but I couldn't really find any hands on review for this specific model.

It's funny to see this, I just got one and set one it up this afternoon.
It's already pulling skim, for whatever that's worth.
Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to compare it to any other model for you, the only skimmer I had before this was a Tunze 9001.

Salty Supply (an online dealer), it was 150 if I remember correctly.

I do wonder whether it's been discontinued by RLSS, since I didn't see it on their webpage last time I checked; but even if they did, I didn't think I could beat the price to performance (hopefully - I'm the furthest thing from a skimmer expert)

Yea i started this thread after seeing the discounted price for the skimmer to see if it was worth picking up or was discounted cuz it sucked. This is my first skimmer purchase so I don't have anything to compare to but hopefully I made the right choice. And near 50% off was hard to resist.

I was in the same boat; but, from what I understand, skimmers from a given tier generally perform about the same anyway, and I'd heard very good things about RLSS, so it seemed like a really good buy.

I too just purchased the same skimmer.. I could not pass up the price as well. I have a SCA-301 now but looking forward to the RLSS R5-i.

oh, and they are down to 140.00. I also bought a spare waveline dc-2500h (also half off 55.00) and the controller for the new 2500 is apex ready.
