New Crab, should i be worried?

Hello everybody ,

I recently bought 2 crabs and i m not quite sure if they are reef safe.

I haven't seen them messing with the corals so far but today i saw them close to one of my corals (look at the picture attached).

Let me know your thoughts guys...

Looks like a red fiddler crab, I don't know the scientific name, shouldn't mess with your coral. However, they do need to get out of the water from time to time as they're not entirely aquatic. If you're able to build an island or something so that they're able to haul out of the water I'd do that, if not they'll pass away in a couple weeks of less.

Every fiddler crab I'd ever seen has one big claw and one small one, and we have a lot of them in the mangroves along the water's edge. When I googled it I saw a lot of crabs that people were calling fiddler crabs with 2 claws the same size? So I'll admit, I'm confused.

Could it be a Ruby Emerald Crab. it's hard for me to tell since the photo is so small

Male fiddlers have the one big claw and the females have two little ones. One of the local shop by me have these same ones right now and they have a tonga branch I the tank so they can get out of the water from time to time, the last two weeks I went in and looked at them they were out of the water. Just found this on google, I think its the scientific name Uca flammula
